University Hospital takes precautionary measures
Surgeries and appointments cancelled
(LONDON, Ontario) – Due to a lack of emergency backup power at London Health Sciences Centre’s University Hospital, the hospital has cancelled all appointments, surgeries, and non-emergency services until backup power can be restored.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. today a water main failure occurred at University Hospital causing damage to power equipment and a partial loss of backup power. The hospital has 100% normal power.
Please note: the Emergency Department at University Hospital remains open.
Patients will be contacted to have their surgeries and procedures rescheduled.
LHSC will continue to provide updates. We regret any difficulty this situation may cause for patients.
