Annual ‘Gift of Life Relay Walk’ kicks off
at University Hospital
(LONDON, Ontario) –The annual ‘Gift of Life Relay Walk’ is holding its kick-off event at London Health Sciences Centre’s University Hospital (UH). For the fifth year Tom Awad, liver recipient, will join other walkers on the journey from London to Windsor in support of organ and tissue donation awareness. Walkers will begin in London on Sept. 14 at UH and will make their way to Windsor, ON by Saturday, Sept. 17.
The relay not only helps to raise awareness and funds to support London Health Sciences Centre and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor, ON, but also pays tribute to organ and tissue donors and their families. Proceeds from the London region go to LHSC’s Multi-Organ Transplant Program at University Hospital.
