Take Our Kids to Work Day at
London Health Sciences Centre
(LONDON, Ontario) – On Wednesday, 250 grade 9 students will get an inside look at what a career in health care is really about as they participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day at LHSC.
This year, LHSC is pleased to offer students a selection of tours at each of the three hospital sites. Among the many tour areas offered are; Hemodialysis, Surgical Pathology/Cytology, Medical Imaging, Core Lab, Multi-Organ Transplant Unit and Microbiology.
The media is invited to attend the Medical Imaging tour at LHSC’s Victoria Hospital. The tour will begin with an overview of Radiography and will continue with visits and demos in the following areas - general X-ray, CT, MRI and Ultrasound.

For the second year, students will also have the opportunity attend a special presentation delivered by A.J. Fordham. Entitled “Never give up”, Fordham speaks on the subject of injury prevention as he shares his powerful story of overcoming a severe traumatic brain injury. Media are also invited to attend this special presentation.
Take Our Kids to Work Day gives students a chance to explore future job prospects in health care, while giving LHSC staff the opportunity to showcase what they do and how it impacts the community. As an acute care teaching hospital, Take Our Kids to Work Day is an extension of our commitment to life-long learning and education.
