It was not a usual day in the parking lots at Victoria Hospital or on the roads that surround the hospital. Expressions of joy, curiosity and even bewilderment followed Andrew Murray, plumber, facilities engineering, LHSC, as he drove his vintage Batmobile to work.
Murray, a fan of the original series that aired in the late 1960’s, drove the street-legal car to work to put a smile on the faces of his co-workers
"Everyone who sees the car is instantly transformed into a kid, it makes people happy and I enjoy seeing that,” says Murray.
It took Murray four years to build the car and it is one of only 30 worldwide and two in Ontario.
