Transformation is a journey — a story with many milestones, achievements and challenges. As we reflect on our transformation journey at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), we are proud to present our 2023/2024 Annual Report, marking another year of dedicated service and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our story.
In 2023, we launched our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, guided by our collective vision: "Transforming health, together."
This vision is more than a statement — it is a commitment to each one of you. Our Strategic Plan lays the groundwork for significant changes and improvements across our organization. We are focused on strengthening our services, incorporating innovative technologies, reducing inequities in health, and enhancing patient care alongside our partners, all while fostering a collaborative environment where Team LHSC can thrive.
Our Strategic Plan was developed through a comprehensive process involving community consultations; input from our teams, patients and partners; and a focus on upholding our core values. We are excited to move forward with clear goals that will innovate, enhance patient care, and improve health outcomes.
Reflecting on the past year, we are proud of our achievements and the progress we have made. We celebrated University Hospital's 50th anniversary, partnered with London Cares to open highly supportive housing units as part of the Health and Homelessness Whole of Community System Response, received historic donations to improve paediatric and adult cancer care, and pioneered research innovations and new Canadian firsts.
Within this Annual Report, you will find an overview of our strategic initiatives, accomplishments, financials for the year, and most importantly, how we have impacted the lives of our patients and community. While we are proud of all that we have accomplished, we acknowledge that we have more to do as we optimize our operations to prioritize stability and sustainability, and the continued delivery of quality care.
