Going up the Stairs with two crutches
- Move your body close to the first step
- Putting the allowed weight on the operated leg and the rest of your weight through the handles of the crutches, pick your good leg up and place it on the first step
- Bring your operated leg onto the step next followed by the crutches
- Repeat until you reach the top of the stairs

- Move your body close to the first step
- Take the crutch out from underneath the side with the railing and double the crutches up on the side opposite the railing
- Putting the allowed weight on the operated leg and the rest of your body weight through the handle of the crutch and railing, pick your good leg up and place it on the first step
- Bring your operated leg onto the step next followed by the crutch
- Repeat until you reach the top of the stairs
Going down the stairs with two crutches
- Bring your body close to the edge of the top step
- Lower your crutches onto the step below
- Bring your operated leg next onto the step
- Putting the allowed weight through your operated leg and the rest of your body weight through the handles of the crutches, lower your good leg onto the step
- Repeat until you reach the bottom of the stairs
Going down the stairs with one crutch and the railing
- Bring your body close to the edge of the top step
- Take the crutch out from underneath the side with the railing and double the crutches up on the side opposite the railing
- Lower your crutch onto the step below
- Bring your operated leg next onto the step
- Putting the allowed weight through your operated leg and the handle of the crutch, lower your good leg onto the step
- Repeat until you reach the bottom of the stairs
