This site is designed to be a guide and resource for patients and their families who are either waiting for or preparing for surgery at University Hospital. It describes how patients will move through the process starting pre-operatively to surgery and to the eventual discharge home. About Us
The Orthopaedics Program at the London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital, provides clinical services to residents in the region of the South West Local Health Integration Network (SWLHIN). With our partners, the program offers specialized joint replacement care, education, surgical management and participation in related research. Each year, over 90,000 hip and knee joint replacement surgeries are performed across Canada, with approximately 1,600 carried out at University Hospital.
An integral part of Surgical Care, Orthopaedics has strong community relationships with The Arthritis Society, Home and Community Care Support Services, Fowler-Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic and Western University.
