The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has designated Children’s Hospital at LHSC as one of 11 lead trauma hospitals in Ontario. There are four paediatric specific lead trauma hospitals in Ontario and Children’s Hospital is currently the second largest, by case volume, for children’s trauma care.

We provide specialized and emergency trauma care to the most seriously injured children of Southwestern Ontario up to the age of 18 years.

As a lead trauma centre, we are responsible for ensuring excellence in trauma care and leadership in trauma education, research, injury prevention, and public awareness.
