Inpatient
A referral from the LHSC physician who is providing care while you are in the hospital is required to initiate occupational therapy services. The OT will complete an assessment and work with the patient and/or their caregivers to help them achieve their goals.
Outpatient
Outpatient occupational therapy may be provided to patients who are referred to OT from an LHSC physician. With the exception of Mental Health Services and some services for individuals with problems related to hand function, referrals from family physicians cannot be accepted.
