We are listening to your feedback about making it easier to find your way around our hospitals. We commit to making sure your visitor and patient experiences are positive when you come to LHSC. As a result, we are piloting the new, digital mapping tool, MazeMap, that will help you easily find your way to your next appointment or visit.
MazeMap is a new tool that will improve staff, patient and visitor wayfinding within LHSC’s hospital sites. As we pilot the map system, we wanted to provide an opportunity for patients and visitors to provide feedback about their user experiences.
In the pilot phase, we are sharing the University Hospital map while we continue building maps for Victoria Hospital and Children’s Hospital. Your feedback will inform any needed changes to this map, as well as to the Victoria Hospital and Children’s Hospital maps. All three maps will be released later when they have been finalized.

Providing feedback
If you experience any issues in the map related to:
- mislabeled rooms,
- technology glitches, or
- areas where the maps may not work effectively.
Feedback about your user experience of this map is important so we can ensure the map is correct.
To provide feedback in the map – when you click on an area, a pop-up will appear where you can interact choose to get directions, share the map link as a link or QR code, or report a problem with the map (the flag icon). Click on the flag icon and type in your feedback about your experience with that area of the map.
You can also access the flag icon to report an issue by clicking on the Search bar and clicking on the flag icon at the bottom of the pop-up box.

How to use the UH map
Please connect to the “LHSC Guest” Wi-Fi network when using the maps. This will allow the system to determine which floor you are on to best guide you to your destination.
Directions
Click on the Search bar and enter a department or room number
Click on an area of the hospital and click, “Directions”
Include your starting location and your destination and choose the “walk” option
You will get step by step directions to your destination as well as an estimate for how long the journey will take
You can share the map as a link or as a QR code to others
Share a map link
- Click on the “share” button (the arrow) in the search bar. This will share the current screen you are viewing.
- Click on a section of the map, then click the “share” button (the arrow). This will share the current screen you are viewing.
- After getting directions, click on the “Share” button and copy the shortened URL link, or click on “QR code” to share as a QR code.
Report an issue
- Click on the Search bar and click on the flag icon with the words, “Let us know” to report an issue.
- Click on a section of the map and click on the flag icon in the pop up.
- You can take a screenshot of the map and send your feedback through this form.
Change some settings
Click on the gear on the right side of the Search bar and you can:
- Enable high-contrast mode to see the map details more clearly.
- Change distance units from meters/kilometers to feet/miles.
- Change the language of the map to one you may be more comfortable using.
- Enter screen reader mode so the page contents can be read aloud to you.
