Congratulations to Movember teams at LHSC and St. Joseph’s

LONDON, OntarioDuring the month of November healthcare workers at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London grew moustaches and raised money and awareness about men’s health issues.

79 individuals on four Movember teams at both organizations raised a combined $16,118.
“It’s motivating to see healthcare workers in London raise awareness and funds in support of Movember," says Erik Elmauer, pharmacy porter, LHSC, and LHSC Movember team captain. “Men can often have difficulty discussing their health issues, especially mental health issues. Hopefully Movember encourages them to start a dialogue or get checked up.” In addition to captaining LHSC’s Movember team, Elmauer also co-chaired London’s Movember initiatives this year.

“Many of our team members know someone or have a family member who has been impacted by prostate cancer or mental health issues and we wanted to give back. We received tremendous support from our colleagues, families and friends and are
proud of our efforts,” adds Brian Egan, fire prevention officer at St. Joseph’s and team captain.
