What we do and how we support
The Oncology Patient Navigation Program is a fully virtual department located within the South West Regional Cancer Program at the London Health Sciences Centre -Victoria Hospital site.
The primary role of the oncology Navigator is to assist patients through the navigation process from time of referral for a suspicion of cancer to diagnosis and referral to the Cancer Centre.
Oncology Navigators will support patients during the pre-diagnosis, active treatment and palliative phases of care as per the disease specific clinical pathways.
The Oncology Navigators provide support to the patients to ensure required diagnostics are completed including medical imaging, pathology and staging to establish a timely diagnosis and follow-up by the surgeon/ respirologist and Regional Cancer Centre for treatment.
