The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) Speech-Language Pathology (S-LP) service is a team of eighteen S-LPs and administrative support across both University and Victoria Hospital sites.
Speech-Language Pathologists are trained to assess, treat and support patients with communication and swallowing difficulties. We are committed to the ongoing education of our team.
Many of the S-LPs at London Health Sciences Centre have advanced their practice through training in the use of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), and some have obtained additional skills in tracheoesophageal voice restoration. We endeavor to advance the field through ongoing clinical research, the teaching of future S-LP clinicians, and in our commitment to evidenced-based practice.
S-LPs require a Master's degree in speech-language pathology and registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). The profession is regulated in Ontario by the Regulated Health Professions Act.
