LHSC President and CEO Bonnie Adamson named one of “Canada’s Most Powerful Women”
Women’s Executive Network reveals 2012 Top 100™ Winners
LONDON, Ontario – London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) congratulates Bonnie Adamson, LHSC President and Chief Executive Officer, for receiving a prestigious Top 100™ Most Powerful Women Award in the Public Sector Leaders category.
Co-presented by Scotiabank and KPMG, these awards celebrate the professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and were presented at a dinner in Toronto last evening. Gala attendees heard from Laureen Harper, who presented the Public Sector Leaders Award category, as well as from keynote speakers Jeanne Beker, international TV personality, and Bonnie Brooks, Hudson’s Bay Company President and CEO.
“Bonnie is a leader focused on strategy, quality and collaboration. She is an innovator who brings passion to the process of transformational change, while respecting, engaging and elevating the performance of those around her,” says Ruthe Anne Conyngham, Chair, LHSC Board of Directors. “Bonnie is committed to providing the best health care possible to our community, our province and our country. Adamson joins a community of 653 women who have received the Top 100™ Award over the last decade, recognizing the highest achieving female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in Canada. Winners are selected based on their strategic vision and leadership, their organization’s financial performance, and their commitment to their communities.
Adamson began her career in health care working on the frontlines as a nurse. Today she is the CEO of a billion-dollar hospital. While her exceptional leadership skills and business acumen set her above the rest, Bonnie credits her success with valuing teamwork above all and fostering the potential of every individual.
