For more than a year now we have together been living and working through the worst public health crisis in living memory. The pandemic has fundamentally changed how we deliver health care and made clear that every part of our health care system, including LHSC, must work in concert to effectively and safely care for the people we serve.
There are, however, reasons for cautious optimism even as our pandemic response work continues unabated. With that optimism comes the need to plan for a prudent resumption of services to enable us to better address the care needs of our community and to continue to build on the advances we’ve made and the connections we’ve forged. We have come far in this span of time and have learned much, although at great cost.
This planning will necessitate a strengthening of our leadership capabilities. Today LHSC is announcing two appointments to augment those capabilities. Danny Tulip CFA will join us in an interim capacity as Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. And Bill Manson will serve as interim Chief Administrative Executive. Both bring an immense depth of expertise and experience in the health sector that will serve LHSC well.
We acknowledge that the recent departures from our executive ranks may have generated concern in the community and among our stakeholders. We want to assure you that our dedication to your care remains unwavering and that we are steadfast in our determination to deliver on our commitments and on our roadmap to recovery.
