London Health Sciences Centre can confirm that a woman in her fifties presented with COVID-19 in Victoria Hospital’s Emergency Department on Thursday, March 12 and that same day was assessed, tested and released with follow-up by the Middlesex-London Health Unit. According to the Middlesex-London Health Unit the woman is also a non-hospital health-care worker who has no history of recent travel to areas that have been significantly affected by the COVID-19.
This is the second confirmed case at London Health Sciences Centre, with the first patient confirmed on January 31, assessed, released and who has since recovered.
As the situation evolves globally, LHSC’s Pandemic Management Incident Team continues to respond to changing directives from the Ministry of Health and our public health partners. We want to reassure the community, patients, staff and physicians that our precautions, practices, and protocols are effective and were followed carefully.
