(London, Ontario) - Our Medical Device Reprocessing team has identified an issue with our surgical trays.
Out of an abundance of caution, we cancelled all elective surgeries and some procedures for the remainder of today (March 21) and all of tomorrow (March 22) to investigate and implement a solution.
Any patient whose procedure is impacted will receive direct communication from their care team. Patients who have not been contacted should come to their scheduled appointment.
We deeply apologize to our patients and their care partners for this disruption – we know that having a surgery postponed or rescheduled can be stressful and challenging for many reasons.
While we believe the risk to patients is low, safety is paramount. We will provide an update to the community tomorrow (March 22) afternoon.
