STATEMENT

Effective immediately, visitor restrictions at LHSC have changed. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, and in alignment with a directive from the Ministry of Health, LHSC is taking additional precautions to keep patients, families, and staff safe.
Visiting is now restricted to only one essential visitor per patient. Visitors must be age 18 or older. No other visitors will be permitted at this time.
Essential visitors include the following:
- One visitor of a patient who is dying or very ill
- One visitor of a patient undergoing surgery on that day
- One support person for a woman in labour
- Parents/guardians of an ill child or youth
All visitors will be subject to health screening before being permitted to enter the hospital.
As this situation continues to evolve, we will provide updates via media statement as appropriate.
