This initiative focuses on building and strengthening the relationships with front line staff to ensure injury prevention programs are aligned with local injury trends. Enhancing the collaboration between the IP team and front line health care providers is critical to providing relevant and timely programming.
The injury prevention team’s presence in the Children's Emergency Department will assist us in responding more promptly to new injury trends. This initiative offers an opportunity for the injury prevention team to connect in moment with patients and families, to provide education as needed. With the recent initiation of this program the injury prevention team has committed to be present in the Emergency Department once a week.
The IP team will help to distribute helmets, Period of PURPLE Crying education, car seat safety, and general safety information (home safety, pedestrian safety, seasonal safety, etc.)
