ECHOCARDIOGRAM; ECHO

An echocardiogram is a test that is done to look at the pumping action of the heart. It can be performed at the bedside by an echocardiogram technoglist. It is useful at identifying damage to the heart wall or heart valves.

Bedside Echocardiogram is used frequently in CCTC to safely identify blood vessels before the insertion of central and arterial lines and to quickly assess for major cardiac disorders or fluid collections.

If cardiac disease is identified, a formal Echocardogram is performed.
