CARDIOVASCULAR; CV The term "Cardiovascular" means "pertaining to the heart and blood vessels". A cardiovascular surgeon performs operations on the heart and blood vessels. "Vascular" pertains to blood vessels; a vascular surgeon performs surgery on the blood vessels outside the heart. Many patients are admitted with "cardiovascular problems". This is a general term that describes problems with the blood vessels, blood pressure or performance of the heart. |
