TRAUMA

Trauma is a word used to describe injury. CCTC is the designated trauma unit for the Southwestern Ontario Region. The CCTC team of physicians and health professionals works closely with the Trauma team to care for patients with complex injuries. A physician trained in the care of trauma patients (called a Traumatologist) will be on-call for trauma each day. This physician is called the "Trauma Team Leader" or TTL. Trauma patients are followed from admission to discharge by the trauma team. Lisa Harkness is the Nurse Practitioner for Trauma. She will assess patients daily while in CCTC and follow them after discharge from CCTC.

Motor Vehicle Collision or MVC is a term that is used to describe injuries due to motor vehicle traumas.
